Now in its 63rd year, it is one of Australia’s most prestigious and longest running business awards programs.

How does the program work?

Step 1: Businesses apply in their home state or territory export awards program via the online application portal, in one or more of the 14 national categories.  

Step 2: Applicants are assessed against the judging criteria in their home state or territory export awards program.

Step 3: State and Territory winners of the national categories are announced. Eligible winners become Australian Export Awards national finalists.

Step 4: After further judging, national winners are announced at an awards ceremony in Canberra, and one is crowned Australian Exporter of the Year.

This is more than just an award. It’s an opportunity for Australian exporters to reflect on their business achievements, build their brand and raise their profile in Australia and on a global stage.

The Australian Export Awards is proudly presented by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission in partnership with State and Territory awards programs and with the valued support of Australia's leading corporations, industry groups, and Government departments.
